Where are you located?

We’re based in peaceful countryside surroundings in Chard, Somerset. Full directions are included in your booking confirmation and on our T&C’s page.

 

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. All experiences are pre booked so we can prepare your alpacas and ensure your session is private and personalised.

 

Can I bring a dog?

No. Alpacas are prey animals and cannot be around dogs under any circumstances.

 

What should I wear?

Comfortable outdoor clothing and closed toe shoes. The field may be uneven or muddy depending on the weather.

 

Is the site accessible?

Our field is natural grassland and may be uneven. If you have accessibility needs, please contact us before booking.

What ages can take part?

  • Meet & Greet: All ages welcome

  • Al Pac A Picnic: All ages welcome (supervision required)

  • Gentle Wander:

    • 13+ may lead an alpaca solo

    • Under 13’s shares an alpaca with a full paying adult

    • Not suitable for buggies and wheelchairs unfortunately due to the uneven ground and they can scare the alpacas when being moved

  • Sunset Romance: Adults only

๐Ÿฆ™ Gentle Wander  - Alpaca Walk

How long is the Gentle Wander experience?

1.5 hours.

 

How many alpacas are included?

Your private group session includes 2 alpacas for up to 4 people.

 

Do children get their own alpaca?

Children under 13 share an alpaca with a supervising full paying adult. The adult leads the alpaca; the child holds a secondary rope.

 

Who walks with my child?

The adult they arrived with. Our team supervises and supports throughout.

 

Can two children share one alpaca?

No - one child per alpaca, always with an adult handler.

 

Is the walk difficult?

No - it’s a gentle stroll suitable for most abilities.

 

Can we add a picnic?

Yes - you can add a picnic hour for £6 per person or £20 per group (max 4 persons).

๐Ÿงบ Al-Pac-A Picnic Experience

What is included?

A beautifully prepared rustic picnic table, 1.5 hours in the alpaca field, alpaca feed, and plenty of time to relax while alpacas wander nearby.

Do you provide food?

No - all picnics are bring your own.

โ€‹

Will the alpacas come to our table?

Once you have finished eating your own picnic (for health & safety reasons), the alpacas are allowed to wander freely and often graze nearby you and may wander over for a treat, but they are never forced to interact.

Can we feed the alpacas?

Yes — we provide alpaca safe feed. Please do not offer them human food.

โ€‹

Can we decorate the table?

Please discuss with us prior to your visit. Small decorations are possible but please avoid balloons, confetti, or anything that could blow away, be eaten or startle the alpacas.

 

What happens if it rains?

Light rain won’t stop the session. In severe weather, we may reschedule for safety.

What is the Picnic Add On?

An optional extra hour in the alpaca field after your main experience.

 

How much does it cost?

  • £6 per person

  • £20 per group (up to 4)

๐ŸŒ… Sunset Romance – Couples Experience

Is this experience private?

Yes - it’s exclusively for one couple.

 

Can we add a picnic?

Yes - you can add a picnic hour for £12 for two people.

 

Is it suitable for proposals?

Absolutely - and we’re happy to help make it special.

๐Ÿ“… Bookings, Changes & Cancellations

Can I change my booking?

Changes can be made up to 48 hours in advance, subject to availability.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before your session. Late cancellations or missed sessions are non refundable.

 

What if you cancel?

If we need to cancel due to weather or animal welfare, we’ll offer you a new date.

๐Ÿ“ธ Photos & Social Media

Can we take photo's?

Absolutely - the alpacas love posing. 

 

Can we post to social media?

Yes, so long as all persons partaking in the experience agree to having their photos/videos shared. Please share videos and photos on our own social media pages and leave reviews with Google Reviews and Trust Advisor.

 

Can we bring a professional photographer?

Yes, but please contact us first to arrange.

๐Ÿงผ Health & Safety

Are alpacas safe?

Yes - our alpacas are gentle and well handled, but they are still animals and must be treated with respect.

 

Can we stroke them?

Yes, but always approach calmly and let the alpaca come to you. Ask the handlers to get the most out of your experience.

 

Is running and climbing allowed?

No - sudden movements can startle the alpacas.
